Los BAFTA 2020 acaban de liberar su lista de nominados para su sección videojuegos. Son 18 categorías entre las que se destacan Control y Death Stranding, aunque la obra de Kojima no se encuentra entre los favoritos del año.
En 2019 los prestigiosos premios británicos al cine y la televisión habían coincidido con The Game Awards, dando como ganador de la temporada a God of War, el exclusivo de PlayStation 4. Sin embargo, en 2018, a pesar de haber premiado en cinco oportunidades a Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, el juego del año terminó siendo el independiente What Remains of Edith Finch.
Habrá que ver cómo termina siendo en esta edición 2020 en relación a los últimos The Game Awards que, contra todo pronóstico, terminó premiando como mejor juego a Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice de From Software.
Lo que llama la atención es la no nominación de Death Stranding en la categoría principal de los BAFTA 2020, no sólo por quién está detrás de su producción Y por la inmensa calidad de la obra, sino porque ya sabemos que Hideo Kojima va a recibir una mención especial como creador.
Eso sí, en Best Game se terminaron colando Luigi’s Mansion 3 y Untitled Goose Game, dos grandes representantes de la pasada temporada. Los dejamos con las 18 categorías. Ustedes dirán si coinciden y ya arrancaran sus apuestas mentales.
